A very large percentage of our new clients from the food industry who are just starting their business or those who want to move from small volumes to contracts with large retailers are not familiar with the requirement for state registration of the food market operator’s facilities.

Many people have not heard of it, but there are those who are simply afraid to do it, suspecting that they will be caught by the service. In fact, it’s the fact that it’s not registered that’s worth being afraid of!

Reasons why it is worth registering the capacity of a food market operator:

  • The main reason is a fine for operating at unregistered capacity: for legal entities for legal entities – 20 minimum wages (UAH 134,000), for individual entrepreneurs – 11 minimum wages (UAH 73,700);
  • All large retail chains and other food industry companies do not work with suppliers whose facilities are not registered;
  • unregistered capacity indicates that the operator is at least irresponsible or, worse, hides its production due to non-compliance with the law, and in any case, such products will be considered counterfeit.
registration of food market operator's facilities

All operators of the “farm to table” food chain need to register their facilities, except for those who need to obtain an operating permit.

The registration process is not complicated and can be completed independently by following the Registration Procedure. If you have any questions or just don’t want to deal with it, we will be happy to do it for you, and ALDEN’s legal advice can shed light on other dark corners of the law.
