Development of MSDS safety data sheets

Safety data sheets (MSDS) are mainly developed for chemical products, but in our practice there have been cases where such documents have been prepared for certain food products.

Market operators who manufacture or sell chemical products must accompany their products with a safety data sheet. Companies involved in the transportation of chemical products do not accept cargo for transportation without an MSDS, as it is the document that contains information on the specific handling requirements for a particular chemical product.

The MSDS is important for export operations – in most of Ukraine’s partner countries, a safety data sheet is a mandatory document. It is increasingly used in the sale of chemical products in Ukraine, including for participation in tenders and when obtaining permits for trade.

The safety data sheet is an important document for the end user to ensure the correct and safe use of the product and to increase consumer loyalty to the brand.

The safety data sheet is developed based on data provided by the manufacturer and the person responsible for the product.

The MSDS contains more detailed information than that found on the label. The passport describes in detail the composition, possible risks of harm to humans and the environment, rules of conduct in case of misuse of the product, storage and disposal conditions.
